At Bountiful Financial, we love discovering the common beliefs that unite people as we work with various faith communities to build investment frameworks. One of these widely shared beliefs is beautifully articulated in Jesus Christ’s call to be peacemakers: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

Christ wants us to promote peace on all levels. He desires peace between nations, but He also calls us to establish peace in our personal relationships: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:39). Most importantly, He offers us peace from conflict within ourselves through repentance and living His commandments: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27).

Catholics, Evangelicals, Latter-day Saints, and all spiritual, moral people can encourage peace by directing their capital toward companies that are agents of peace—those that engender civil discourse, defend peace, and reject the glorification of violence. In this way, we can join Christ in His mission to bring peace to our communities and relationships, and to our individual lives.Jesus Christ is indeed the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
