Committees
Committees, advisory councils, and public consultations are essential to Bountiful’s industry-leading governance model. Bountiful uses a committee structure to make consequential decisions about product development, methodology, and evolution. Committee oversight likewise applies to all aspects of Bountiful’s operations.
Bountiful’s Investment Frameworks, datasets, and products, such as indices, are governed internally by a committee. Our committees have a broad mandate to ensure the products’ relevance, accuracy, and usability. For example, an index committee approves the index methodology, reviews index development, and ensures the accuracy of the index. The committee draws upon other bodies or resources, such as advisory councils and public consultations, to gauge stakeholder sentiment and ensure the product achieves its stated objectives.
Along with product committees, operational committees oversee the company’s daily activities. This includes vendor management, oversight of third-party services, managing and mitigating potential conflicts of interest, contingency planning, and more. The operational committees regularly review performance metrics and strive for improvements.
Each committee has a charter defining its responsibilities and the rules under which it operates and makes decisions. Our committees consist of Bountiful employees chosen based on their functional roles, professional capabilities, and experience. In some cases, we invite external parties to join a committee as standing members or guests to ensure the relevant expertise and capabilities are represented within the committee’s membership.
