How can we overcome toxic communication patterns, build trust, and accelerate business?
One solution is to carefully balance truth and grace in all we write and say.
In other words, follow Jesus Christ’s example, who personifies these heavenly attributes. John described Him as “full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
Being committed to the truth means mustering the courage to give clear feedback to a partner, an employee, or a friend, telling them something they may not want to hear but need to, for the sake of their development. (Doing this privately — another Christ-like pattern — is always better!)
But the truth should be balanced by grace, meaning demonstrations of unexpected kindness and unwarranted compassion.
Imagine how politics, business, and personal relationships would be strengthened if we could communicate in this balanced way, offering more truth, but also more grace.
I’m confident that if we strive for this, we will receive Divine help in our efforts, and our lives will be blessed in many ways.
